An ultrasound scan is a technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to take images of tissue or blood flow inside of the body which can help diagnose and monitor musculoskeletal conditions.
An external ultrasound scan is conducted outside of the body where an ultrasound probe is moved over the skin. The probe emits sound waves to create echoes which when bounced off parts of the body form a moving image that is displayed on a monitor.
Once an ultrasound scan has been conducted a report detailing all findings will be sent to the patient following the appointment.
Please note we do not provide pregnancy related ultrasounds.
